Opole is testing PIXEL's e-paper!

Work on a comprehensive stop-stop passenger information system in the e-paper technology lasted over 9 months. During this time, a dedicated team set goals and successively pursued them. The culmination of these works is the test implementation of the ECO-SDIP system in the city of Opole, which will last for a period of 3 months.

PIXEL installed in Opole plates in the full range of the offered dimensions of devices, ie 9,7 ", 13,3" and 32 ". A total of 8 displays are "checked"!
All boards are interactive, i.e. they have tactile buttons for displaying the content desired by the passenger. On a large screen, we display dynamic passenger information, timetables and a route plan. We present the same content on small plates only in a different arrangement. The start screen is the current departures of vehicles from the stop, while to view the scheduled passenger information, open it with the dedicated (described) button.

ECO-SDIP downloads data from the CeSIP system (PIXEL's application for managing public transport in the city) and presents them on e-paper plates. The advantage of this type of displays over their counterparts in LCD or LED technology is very low, because close to zero, power consumption. Opole plates are not connected to the power grid - they are completely energy independent thanks to the installed photovoltaic panels. So there is no cost in maintaining these electronic devices in terms of power consumption!

The purpose of the test implementation is to assess the functionality of the devices and collect the opinions of passengers of Opole public transport.
Opole residents can test the ECO-SDIP at the following stops: Luboszyce - Tatrzańska, Pużaka - Grabowa (near Ozimsk), Domański - Lelewela, Grudzicka - Szkoła near Centrum, Aleja Solidarności near Centrum, Pużaka - Pętla, Pużaka - Grabowa, Plac Kopernik - Sienkiewicza.
