PIXEL. On the market since 1994.
A good passenger information management strategy helps to facilitate access to the public transport network for everyone, whether they currently use transport or not. Correct and reliable information should be available before and during the journey, so that passengers can plan their journey from one point to another, choosing the most appropriate route, as well as the type and time of departure of the means of transport.
The beginnings of the PIXEL company date back to 1994, when two engineers, Sławomir Jankowski and Andrzej Kmiecik, decided to start a new stage of their professional life and establish a civil partnership called Zakład Elektroniczny PIXEL. The first products of the company - watches designed for public transport vehicles - were created in a XNUMX-meter private apartment.
The first large order for the production and assembly of watches was obtained by Leszek Cyrankowski, to whom Jankowski offered cooperation, because the company needed a salesman with contacts. The surprise of the owners was huge, as sales were expected at the level of several units, and the signed contract concerned 50 devices. The watches were to be equipped with public transport buses in Tomaszów Mazowiecki. The idea for them was fully original and, as it turned out after time, perfectly hit. The scale of this project scared the constructors due to the lack of funds and hands to work. It turned out that it was necessary to take out loans for the mortgage of one's own flats. Sławomir Jankowski alone remained in the business field. The situation became even more difficult. Jankowski, seeing the commitment and effectiveness of his colleague Cyrankowski, proposed to him to run a business together. The new co-owners were aware that it was their "to be or not to be" on the market.
Today, in retrospect, their risky decision turned out to be a bull's-eye. Everyday life based on working several hours a day made it possible to fulfill the signed contract. This first venture was an important lesson for the company for the future. It was not possible to avoid minor defects in the created products, mainly related to adapting them to shocks during the bus ride. The implementation of the above order gave an impulse to employ the first employee responsible for their service - Piotr Rybicki. The machine of subsequent orders started with surprising speed, and the company changed its registered office a few years ago, due to the dynamic increase in the number of employees as well as the missing office and production space. Since 2012, the company has been located in the Bydgoszcz Industrial and Technological Park, at ul. Raczkowskiego 5.
