Passenger Bus Stop System in e-paper technology

ECO-SDIP

Bus stop information based on e-paper displays ECO-SDIPis an innovative system that combines many advantages that are important today both for passengers and public transport operators.

PIXEL proposes a system presenting dynamic and scheduled passenger information on EPD (Electronic Paper Display) displays with the size of 9,7 ", 13,3" and 32 ".
The main advantage of the solution is very low power consumption, which, given the rising costs of electricity, may be of great importance when choosing a stop passenger information system. To keep the maintenance costs of ECO-SDIP as low as possible, the system is offered as an option with photovoltaic panels and an energy accumulating battery, ensuring its energy autonomy.

The content displayed at bus stops is managed with the use of an intuitive editor, where you can also add special messages or advertising materials, and then publish them on designated / all screens in the city.

Thanks to ECO-SDIP, the passenger uses passenger information, which significantly reduces the negative impact of electronic devices on the environment.

The most important features of the system
  • Dynamic and scheduled passenger information on one screen (9,7 "/ 13,3" / 32 "),
  • Energy autonomy thanks to photovoltaic panels,
  • Displaying content without power consumption!
  • Quick ECO-SDIP assembly (post or assembly to a bus shelter). This argument is especially important for places where access to the power grid is difficult or too expensive,
  • Excellent readability of the displayed content in changing weather conditions,
  • Perfect readability of the displayed content at night thanks to the automatic backlight of the screen (proximity sensor),
  • Remote, quick management of the content displayed on all boards in the city,
  • Touch panel minimizing the failure rate of standard buttons and the option of calling the content with a gesture,
  • Dedicated device operation mode for low ambient temperatures.

ECO-SDIP - innovation, significant reduction of power consumption, ecology.

The high resolution of the screens allows for legible and clear presentation of complex timetables and attractive publication of other text and graphic content. A wide viewing angle and excellent visibility in changing weather conditions, especially in full sunlight, are arguments in favor of e-inks compared to their LED or LCD counterparts.
ECO-SDIP is characterized by a very low power consumption, which in combination with the installed photovoltaic panels ensures the independence of the system from access to the power grid, thus reducing the need for energy production in power plants.

What is the e-paper / EPD technology?

Electronic displays in e-paper technology are characterized by a very low power consumption, which takes place only when the presented content is changed.
The ePaper (EPD) screen is made of two electrodes with millions of microcapsules between them. The size of one microcapsule is roughly the diameter of a human hair. Microcapsules are a form of electronic ink which alternately, depending on the polarity of the electronic circuit, arrange themselves into groups, creating one point - a pixel on the screen. Each microcapsule contains white (positive charge) and black (negative charge) pigment particles. The pixel microcapsules respond to an electrical potential.

When an electric potential is applied to a pixel in such a way that a positive charge is attracted upwards and a negative charge downwards, white particles move up the microcapsule and black particles to the bottom where they become invisible. As a result, the pixel becomes white, i.e. we get a white point on the screen. Analogously to the white color, we will achieve the black pixel by reversing the polarity of the electrodes.
